I Had similar issues when I tested a Sandisk 64Gb extreme SDXC card with a GoPro HD Hero2, format it with the program vanakaru has linked and don't use it in the GoPro. Having all your footage on one card is much riskier too and a full battery run will just fill a 16Gb card, with battery backpac you may 3/4 fill a 32Gb card so there is no reason to mess with such large unsupported cards. GoPro's don't support SDXC cards and so they will have issues with anything larger then 32gb, you will be better off buying nearly 3x 32Gb cards for the price of one 64Gb card or even 6-10 16Gb cards.
None of the camera models currently support SDXC memory cards or micro SD adapters. We recommend name brand SDHC cards such as SanDisk or Kingston with a class 4 rating for the HD HERO Original, and a class 10 rating for the HD HERO2. The HD HERO cameras supports SDHC cards up to 32GB (any SD card over 2GB is considered a SDHC card).
